Best Time to Visit Tasmania
More than any other place in Australia, Tasmania is blessed with 4
seasons to enjoy. Each season has a unique appeal to those that enjoy a
variety of interest. Summer time in Tasmania takes on the festival feel
as there are many during the season to enjoy. A Tasmania summer runs
from December to February with a festival nearly every weekend in one
small town or another. The bigger festivals to note are the ones in
Launceston and in Hobart. The Taste of Tasmania is probably the most
well-known, and good attendance at all the festivals is almost always
assured.
Autumn arrives in March, April and May and is a time of quiet beauty
as the countryside prepares to rest. The biennial cultural celebration
begins with festivals lasting 10 days. The highlight of this time is the
fresh produce available to be enjoyed, and taking in such sights as the
Taste of Huon and Targa Tasmania, will create an unforgettable holiday.
Winter arrives in June, July and August and is a wonderful time to
relax inside by the huge fireplaces and enjoy being pampered in such a
manner that is spa-like, depending on where you choose to warm yourself
up. Join the communities at the Longest Night Film Festivals and the
Antarctica Mid-Winter Festival. This festival takes place in June and
will warm the heart and spirit as the Hobarts Festival of the Voices. In
July, the Chocolate Festival can be enjoyed and should not be missed!
Spring comes in September, October and November. A time that is cool and
fresh with the countryside awakening and renewing itself. Gardens bloom
and the fishing is excellent. The tulip festivals begin in the north and
the south and will continue through the month of May.
 When you
consider all there is to do and see in Tasmania, anytime is a good time
to take a holiday to Tasmania. With over 1,400 mountain peaks, the
island is more than 40% national parks and reserves. Tasmania is kept
very much in its natural state no matter what the season. The animals
that are protected there are some of the rarest in the world, and this
may be the one chance to see them in their habitat. Tasmania feels
fortunate to have the visitors and tourists that come to visit with them
no matter when the time of the year, and wants them to feel quite at
home as they rest from their everyday stresses to unwind and relax in
the air that has been proven to be the world’s cleanest.
You will not find a better meal served than in Tasmania. This is due
to the fertile fields and care that is given to the land, the fruit of
its labor. With local seafood and wine produced in the region, what more
can you ask for? Tasmania has been honored by the National Geographic
for their wise stewardship of the land, ranking in the top 3 of the
world! Plan a holiday in Tasmania and renew yourself.
